Much Improved Throttle Response
The 3M DIY Tune-up kit worked as described. I just used it on my wife's 96' Saturn SL1 because I was suspecting misfires when climbing hills. My scanner didn't turn up any codes, but something was definitely wrong. The last few mechanics have all recommended a fuel system service so I wanted to give this a try first. I was quoted $119 from a mechanic to do a similar type service and $220 to perform the chemical injector cleaning that feeds directly into the fuel rail. Don't believe I will be needing that service now because the hesitation is gone.

You may notice that the car won't start after spraying the throttle plate cleaner. I suppose I should have tried harder to clean up the pool of dirty fluid off the the bottom of the throttle body. Next time I will park half the car on the curb to help it drain out on its own. Easy to use - I only needed pliers to take off the intake and some scissors to trim the intake system cleaner tube oh and a brick to keep the accelerator steady.

Great System Beats Dealership Hands Down
This is a great product. I have come to trust the 3M name and this system was no exception. It came highly recommended on several forums and works just as advertised. It comes with an instructional DVD and if you follow the steps and examples provided you will have about a 45 min project that will save you lots of money compared to having it done at the dealership. I just did the tuneup on a 2005 4.0 Liter V6 Toyota with 50K+ miles. I make no claims about milage or performance increase but it cleans the throttle body very well.

!!Make sure you change the oil after this treatment within the next 100 miles or so.

This Kit cost $50 and I also purchased $30 worth of spark plugs. For $80 I got a tune-up that would have cost $400 at the dealership. Thanks 3M!

3M tune up is a must
I suspected that my 96 crown vic formerly owned by a enderly couple since it was new in 1996 was probably all carboned up from only in town and out to the farm driving. I put dual police exhausts on it, superchips power tuner and a k&n filter, but never felt I was getting full performance.
I ran the kit with the 15 minutes of ideling with the cleaner going into the engine, the 16 oz bottle of fuel injector cleaner and cleaned the dirty throttle body and now I have a car that keeps up with our local 2007 crown vic police car. 0-60 is now in the 7 second bracket and fuel mileage is unreal. If I drive without ethanol, pure 100% 91 octane gasoline it can get 31 mpg at 55 mph. I have the digital speedometer that has the instant gas mileage meter on it. Crusing on the freeway at 75 mph I average 26 to 27 mpg and all this is happening in a 4000 pound car that rides like none else. Also a little 4.6 (281 cubice inch) motor.
Of course if I play with the car gas mileage is less than 10 mpg but you have to expect that of a car that can now go more than an honest 120 mph.
Local police officer is a great friend and he wanted to see what it would do as his police intercepter is limited to a 120. I chickened out at 120 as at 65 years of age I thought about reaction time and slowed down.

3M Fuel System Tune Up kit worth every penny
I was amazed at the fuel milage difference after using the 3M Fuel System Tune Up kit. The kit was super easy to use and took me about 45 minutes from popping the hood to closing it (this included taking the throttle body off the car to clean it).
I have a 1990 240sx with 118K miles, and I'm sure the fuel system had never been cleaned. My highway mileage went from 22.5 mpg to almost 26 mpg. This will save me $4.06 on each fill up (gas is $1.85 right now)which is $141.19 a year if I fill up 35 times.
I noticed a performance change immediately. The idle was much smoother and throttle responce was much quicker. The directions were very clear and all I needed for the job was a screw driver and a 10mm socket wrench. Anyone with any mechanical ability at all can do this.
