Tribal Flame Designs Right from your Tailpipe

The other day I was walking along the streets of Wilmington and saw a car with flames protruding from its tailpipe. I could definitely make out that that piece of tuning was done by some tuning company as the car itself was utterly tuned from bottom to top. But I was left wondering whether it is possible to create a kind of homemade flame exhaust system. And the other question the shaped up in my mind is whether such a modification would anyhow hurt my car.

So, the question under discussion is: can I set my exhaust on fire at home?

The answer is definitely YES. That’s what I’ve found browsing various car enthusiasts forums.

You could learn the way the system works from the kits. Well, first of all you have to have a general idea of how it works and what components are to be present. You need some sort of fuel delivery, oxygen to push the flame and mix the fuel, ignition source, and some kind of button to activate the device. The 2 last elements (the ignition and control) can be a sparkplug wired to a button inside you car.

As for the damage it might cause your car in order to avoid it you need to make the tailpipe long enough the rear bumper so that it wouldn’t catch a fire. It is enough that the pipe extends around 2 feet past the bumper.

Another thing that I’ve discovered is that such a system can be installed on a car with a carburetor only.

Here is a practical advice on how you can really make such a system. You need to drill the exhaust about 12 inches from the end of the tips, thread to fit a spark plug, wire these plugs back through to the coil with an inline cut off switch to divert the charge from one plug in each bank of the engine to the ones in the exhaust pipes. The unburned fuel due to the two cylinders up front misfiring will be burned at the tailpipe.

In fact it is a small and cheap show trick
